ProSource Makes Key Announcements, Including Trends, New Vendors, and Staff

ProSource Leadership Indicates Growth Opportunities & Trends

ProSource co-presidents Jim Ristow and Dave Workman indicated key trends and opportunities for members, including the meteoric rise of home automation; Ultra HD breaking into homes across the country with more available sets and content; legacy and new audio products; the explosion of whole-house wireless audio; lighting and shades; and commercial projects. Ristow also delineated trends in the housing market, including an increase in starts for both 2014 and 2015.

“The energy at the Summit & Expo was overwhelmingly upbeat,” says Ristow. “The combination of a positive housing market, growth in several consumer-electronics and integration categories, and the increasing membership and power of the group are all coalescing to create incredible opportunities for ProSource members.”

ProSource Groundbreaking Networking & Education

With exciting peer-to-peer idea exchange through roundtable discussions with some of the best and brightest members in the industry; more educational seminars with integrator-focused topics; and networking opportunities through all of the various social events, the Summit & Expo 2014 was one of ProSource’s most productive and educational events yet. While this type of idea-sharing, networking, and brainstorming typifies the Summit & Expo experience, it was elevated at this year’s event.

“The goal was to get the group talking and sharing and for ProSource to begin to develop some best practices. The ProSource team had done this in previous years, but never with a group this large,” says Sheri Griffin, president of Home Theater Design Group, ProSource member, and round-table moderator. “It was amazing to watch the groups share and learn from one another. With each question more members became involved. It was a blessing to be able to enjoy and share the thoughts from members across the nation.”

New Vendors Announced

Also at the Summit & Expo, new ProSource vendors were introduced including Screen Innovations, Atlona, Access Networks, Martin Logan, and Energy Squad, offering additional solutions to members and rounding out ProSource’s already robust line card. Screen Innovations offers high-end screens with ambient-light rejection technology; Atlona makes scalable distribution systems for both commercial and residential projects; Access Networks provides enterprise-grade networking solutions to bolster home/commercial networks; MartinLogan, maker of premium hi-fi speakers; and Energy Squad aggregates green-tech products under one umbrella. All these vendor partners, in conjunction with existing ProSource manufacturers, make it easier than ever for ProSource members to find and spec the right products for the job.
